Come Together for Christmas in Coffs

Luke Young • Sep 27, 2022

Families are far-spread & getting together for Christmas can be difficult. Why not choose a central, eye-catching Coffs Harbour destination as your HQ to host a family beach Christmas? Let’s dive in to why it may be perfect!

Places to gather and enjoy in one another’s company are a-plenty on the Coffs Coast. Within range of the beautifully architectured and self-contained townhouses we offer here at The Observatory Apartments, are these outdoor options you may love:

●      🍔 Twilight Food Market - A weekly, Friday night event which is open (weather permitting) all through the Chrissy holidays. You’ll find the greatest local artists strumming their tunes and a creek side backdrop, perfect for planting your picnic blankets & chairs for some BYO drinks and exquisite food from local vendors.

●      🌊 Park Beach or Coffs Creek - Two natural, wonderful public spaces to suit or switch between and sharing one carpark. You’ll find a safely patrolled beach complete with flags for the tiny tots to swim between and space upon the sands to tan, plant your umbrella, play beach cricket & more. You could also drift or walk through the mouth of the creek and have even more grassland spaces complete with slow-drifting currents, a secluded bay for play and gentle swims, a kid’s play-park, paths for scooters & bicycles and plentiful benches & barbecues for those X-mas day cook ups! It’s stellar

●      🌲 Jetty Foreshores - Speaking of grass, shade, playgrounds & public BBQ’s. At The Observatory, you’re a mere frisbee toss from the recently upgraded Foreshores area, with oodles of walkable pathed grasslands nestled in shade, multiple options of playground and a plethora of BBQ huts for you and your family to claim & use as your outdoor HQ for a day’s activities. Best part? It’s just metres away from the safe Jetty Harbour’s waters and the iconic Jetty itself. Ideal if you also want to visit…

●      ⛵ The Marina - From family photos at the top of Muttonbird Island, to breakwall walks with local Ice-Creams in hand or a big-table brekky/lunch/dinner at many of the iconic local food venues—from Latitude 30 to Attitude Burger & Hub Cafe! Sails never fail as a family photo backdrop—and the Northwall surfers are there to watch while you relax (or you could join them, of course!).

There’s so much more we could cover. Such as how year-after-year, the Jetty Carnival hits the Foreshores for those wonderful rides & festive games through December. There’s always a Carols by Candlelight, and the list for activities, events & spaces to host a large family Chrissy is more bountiful than a full Christmas tree on the Coffs Coast!

Should you wish to book during that peak season, your chances are best if you get that reservation early! Our accommodation is as central as it gets, so follow this link to see which room types suit you and your extended family best.
