The beautiful sun-drenched Coffs Coast is home to some of the most picturesque beaches in the country. We want you to make the most of your stay with us at The Observatory Holiday Apartments, so we’ve put together a list of the best patrolled beaches in the area for you to enjoy hours of fun in the sun with the whole family! 



  1. Park Beach (20-minute walk)
    Park Beach is Coffs Harbour’s most central and main patrolled beach, serviced by both Coffs Harbour City Council’s Professional Lifeguards and Coffs Harbour Surf Lifesaving Club. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards and lifesavers 7 days per week. 
  2. Sawtell Beach (15-minute drive) 
    Sawtell Beach is another popular patrolled beach in the area, serviced by both Coffs Harbour City Council’s Professional Lifeguards and Sawtell Surf Lifesaving Club. Sawtell Main Beach is also patrolled 7 days a week by both lifeguards and savers.
  3. Woolgoolga Beach (25-minute drive)
    Woolgoolga Beach is just north of the Jetty Precinct and is serviced by both Coffs Harbour City Council’s Professional Lifeguards and Woolgoolga Surf Lifesaving Club. Woolgoolga beach is the most child-friendly beach in the area as it is protected from the South, experiencing very low, gentle surf… perfect for the littlies!
  4. Diggers Beach (10-minute drive)
    Diggers Beach is a 900m long, open beach just north of the Jetty Precinct, (sharp east of the Big Banana.) Keep an eye out for the flags along the long stretch of open beach between the big beautiful headlands at either end. Diggers is patrolled by both Lifesavers and Lifeguards 7 days per week.
  5. Corindi Beach (30-minute drive) 
    Council lifeguards service Corindi Beach 7 days per week, Monday-Sunday during the summer holidays. *Service may vary Council’s Senior Lifeguard to confirm times/dates.
