Ah, a picnic! So many fond family memories can be made upon a picnic blanket. So, let’s highlight our top 5 picnic spots for your holiday in Coffs Harbour.

1.     Brelsford Park – with a bustling skatepark on one end and a serene and tree-smattered part on the other, this park is a few minutes’ drive away from our apartments and is complete with an impressive kids’ playground! Also, Coles is just across the road for any last-minute snacking essentials.

2.     Park Beach Reserve – a frequent hotspot for summertime night markets, Park Beach Reserve offers you tonnes of grassland space or undercover tables, a kids’ playground and immediate access to the gorgeous Coffs Creek and coastal walkway. What more can you ask for?

3.     Jetty Foreshores – behind the beach lies the Jetty Foreshores, a long stretch of beautifully kept walkway with grasslands galore. Undercover tables, as well as public amenities and barbecues are there for that extra awesomeness!

4.     The Botanic Gardens – perhaps the perfect place for a picnic. It’s got countless places where you can lay your blanket and soak in the views. Want to sit beside a beautiful waterfall? Check. What about overlooking a duck-filled pond, complete with a gorgeous red bridge and pagoda? You bet! You must check it out.

5.     Coffs Creek – along the beautiful creek walk, there’s a few spots of green where you could roll out the picnic blanket and soak in the serenity. It’s perfect for those after a lesser-known highway!

Solitary Islands Coastal Walk Stretching approximately 60 km from Red Rock to Sawtell, this iconic trail offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, sandy beaches, and lush headlands. This one is for the more adventurous hikers, pack a backpack as this one can take up to 4 days to complete, or jump in and do any part of it you like just follow the signposts. Muttonbird Island Nature Reserve Walk This short but rewarding walk will get the heart rate going with the sleep incline to begin with, The raised path ascends to the Eastern Side Lookout, offering panoramic views of the Solitary Islands Marine Park and the Pacific Ocean. Between May and November, it's a prime spot for whale watching. The island is a significant Aboriginal site and home to thousands of wedge-tailed shearwaters (muttonbirds) that nest here annually.
